Job Description

We are seeking a Psychologist in Birmingham to work in a small mental health rehabilitation service. You will provide help and support to adults with learning disabilities and psychological distress. You will work as part of a MDT of clinicians and support staff by providing psychological treatment and assessment.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Provide psychological assessments and management of challenging behaviour with patients with autistic spectrum disorder and learning disabilities

  • Research and audit clinical admin activities while collecting and analysing data

  • Write and present reports and assist in project development

  • Use I.T equipment and software to create statistical and database spreadsheets

  • Organise and undertake training programmes while contributing to group wide research projects

  • Participating in professional development activities with your line manager

  • Oversee assistant psychologists during assessment and treatments

     

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a registered practitioner psychologist recognised by the HCPC

  • Post graduate doctoral level training in either Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology as accredited by the BPS (including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology)

  • Applications will also be considered from candidates who qualify in September 2018.
