Systems Administrator Full-Time

You will work as a member of the IT team supporting the business-critical internal corporate systems. The successful candidate will have excellent technical and problem solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to work both independently and in as part of a team. The candidate requires advanced troubleshooting skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and solve common server and network problems.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to think on their feet and have good analytical skills, able to operate under pressure to formal system monitoring, troubleshooting and issue resolution procedures.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:
• Support of office IT infrastructure, including local comms room equipment: servers, storage systems, networking, structured cabling
• Support of corporate Windows and Linux servers
• Support of corporate specific software applications
• Help EUC on-site in supporting all office infrastructure including telephone and audio visual systems
• Liaise with all other departments to ensure quality of service demands are met
• Effectively and readily communicate issues and solutions to the business users
• Document all work completed and help build a knowledge base of problems and solutions
• Be extremely responsive to the needs of business users while being proactive to solve potential problems
• Maintain software and hardware inventory records

Experience & essential skills
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Linux/Windows (CentOS/RHEL and Windows Server) based environments
• Networking principles knowledge and hands-on experience in the followings: Routing/Firewalling, Switching, Load Balancing
• Knowledge of virtualisation platforms and technologies (Xen, VMWare, Hyper-V)
• Capacity planning, configuring, testing, maintaining and supporting the server infrastructure, hardware and system software components
• Knowledge of how Storage integration works (iSCSI, FC, NFS)
• An ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
• Required experience: 4+ years
• Automation and orchestration experience (Puppet, Chef, other)
• Working experience with monitoring systems
• Knowledge of centralized logging system functionality
• Knowledge and experience using ITIL best practices
• Experience with scripting languages
• Experience in database administration (MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle)
